Over the past couple of months, eSIM technology has been released in a variety of devices.
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is an embedded SIM card that allows your device to become dual SIM capable, without needing to insert a second SIM card.
How does it work?
It works in the same way as a dual or hybrid SIM device, meaning you can support two mobile numbers within the same device without needing two physical SIM cards.
Which devices support eSIMs?
Currently, the only mobile devices to support eSIMs are:
- Apple iPhone Xs
- Apple iPhone Xs Max
- Apple iPhone XR
- Google Pixel 2
- Google Pixel 2 XL
- Google Pixel 3
- Google Pixel 3 XL

How do I activate an eSIM?
eSIM activation has to be competed though a network carrier. The network carrier will either send a QR code to the customer directly, or through their network carrier app.
As eSIMs are a new technology, additional updates and information will be released over time. We will continue to provide a summary of those updates as and when they become notable. Just keep checking the Newsfeed for updates.
