iPhone keyboard issue on iOS 11.1

It has been reported that users that have updated their Apple mobile devices to iOS 11.1, have encountered an issue with the letter ‘i’ on their keyboard.

When the letter ‘i’ is entered, it is automatically changed to: A?

Apple have acknowledged the issue, which they say will be fixed with a software update in the future. However, for the moment they have provided a temporary fix:

1. From the home screen choose Settings.

2. Choose General.

3. Choose Keyboard.

4. Choose Text replacement.

5. Choose + (Add).

6. Enter an upper-case ‘I’ into Phrase.

7. Enter a lower-case ‘i’ into Shortcut.

8. Choose Save.

Customers should be advised to action the temporary fix, and then check for software updates regularly.
