Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

Google live-streamed its #MadeByGoogle event yesterday, where along with a wave of other new products, the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were officially announced. Here are some of the key new features from Google’s latest line of Pixel phones:

  • An ultra-advanced 12.2MP camera with machine learning
The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL boast a smart camera using advanced machine learning to create the best photos. Using the new Top Shot mode, the Pixel 3’s camera will take multiple photos with every shot, and using machine learning, will suggest the best photo to you. Another smart camera feature is Night Shift mode, which allows you to take photos in low-light, and its advanced AI will readjust the light settings for you.
  • Dual front-facing cameras
The Pixel 3 and 3 XL have two front-facing cameras, one normal and one wide-angle, allowing to you change at will between the two. With the wide-angle lens you can take selfies that capture a lot more detail with its much larger 107° field of view.
  • Wireless Charging
New to Google phones, both the Pixel 3 and the 3 XL feature Qi wireless charging. This means that they will able to wirelessly charge on a wide variety of wireless chargers from day 1.
  • 5.5-inch and 6.3-inch OLED display
Both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL feature bigger screens, without increasing the size of the phones. Both the Pixel 3 and the 3 XL are the same size as their predecessors, but the Pixel 3’s screen has jumped from 5-inches to 5.5-inches, while the 3 XL has increased from 6-inches to 6.3-inches.
  • Android 9 (Pie) and Google Assistant
With the most advanced Android operating system and Google Assistant, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are better than ever at intelligently helping you. With advanced machine learning, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL will learn how to help you in a variety of ways. For example, reminding you to wind down from a certain time, or reducing the battery usage from apps it knows you aren’t likely to use.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL can be pre-ordered now, and shipping will start from the 1st of November.
