Apple recalls certain plugs in UK, Hong Kong and Singapore over risk of electric shock

Apple has asked customers to stop using some plug adapters because of a risk of electric shock.

They are recalling two types of plug:

  • The AC wall plug shipped with Macs and some iOS devices between 2003 and 2010.
  • A three-pronged plug included in the World Travel Adapter kit.

The affected plugs are all white, with no letters or words on the inside slot.

Unaffected versions of the plug are white with a grey on the inside, with a dimple on the side.

Apple USB power adapters are not affected.

Based on the feedback we received, we have updated the following areas within the UAD:

  • The following scenarios have been added for the Huawei B311 and the Huawei AI Cube:
    • Enable/Disable 4G
    • Enable/Disable International Data Roaming
    • How to find the APN (Access Point Name)
    • How do I reset my device?
  • The following Troubleshooter scripts have been removed from the Huawei AI Cube, Huawei B310 Home Fi, and Huawei B311 Router:
    • Battery Issues
    • MiFi heating up
    • No Charge
    • Switches Off
  • The 3Apps script has been removed from all modems, mobile Wi-Fi devices, and router devices.
  • The Network Unlock script has been updated for the Huawei AI Cube, Huawei B310 Home Fi, and Huawei B311 Router to reflect that all devices supplied by 3 are now unlocked.
  • A new script called ‘No Internet’ has been added for the Huawei AI Cube, Huawei B310 Home Fi, and Huawei B311 Router.
