CamScanner app found to contain malware

A recent version of the Android app CamScanner has been found to contain malicious code.

The malware had the potential to show users intrusive ads and learn their login credentials.

CamScanner have since said that they have released a new version of the app, without the malicious code.

Customers are advised to uninstall the CamScanner app, and wait for the new and tested version to be released before re-installing it.

Customers that have mobile banking apps installed on their devices should be particularly cautious and regularly check for malicious code. There may be apps available to help with this.
